A Letter from the Chairman
Hi all,
Its been a lean month or so on the website (sorry!) so thought I'd offer an update on all things Croft.
Firstly a big welcome to Pete "Fuzz" Crease to the Club. Here's to a long and wicket-ful career at Croft!
The new shirts are brilliant so thanks to Croft Original for their sponsorship and continued support to our club.
Congratulations to Will Manship for taking his maiden 1st XI Wicket against Barrow on Saturday.
Thank you to all those who participated in the Charity match on July 4th. We raised nearly £600 with the Heathcote Arms for Children with Leukaemia so well done everybody!
We have fulfilled all fixtures this year despite a week where a massive 15 regulars were all on holiday! It was great to see dedication by all players/non-players to see these fixtures were not abandoned (especially when so many other so-called bigger clubs have been docked 24 points for not fielding a side.)
For their continuing sponsorship and support to the Youth development at Croft CC, thank-you to Bardon Aggregates.
Congratulations to the first team for scoring a minimum 300 runs in 3 consecutive weeks in the season (sounds like a club record but Grimes may be able to correct me if I'm wrong!)
Nets are Tuesday nights at the ground. 5.30pm til 8pm. Drinks and refreshments are available.
Massive thank-you to Lindsey, Mark and Ian for maintaing a pristine pavillion and an excellent wicket out of the goodness of their hearts. We wouldn't be where we are without your dedication.
Still lots of cricket to be played this season so lets not rest on our laurels and lets strive to achieve those team and personal targets we set ourselves at the start of the season.
