Aggressive RHB!!! Ideal batsman when a draw is on the cards! Learning to hit 4's and 6's!

Very effective swing bowler when the conditions allow!!!

hold's the record for the amount of battenberg cake consumed in one cricket tea...
Luke Creissen Member profile Luke Creissen
LHB opener This gritty opener has been noted for his slow scoring rate and general slowness between the wickets. Hoping to follow in the footsteps of greats such as kiwi Mark Richardson and West Indian Wavell Hinds. Could hold the record for most runs scored using only one shot.
Ian Daniels Member profile Ian Daniels
Only current player to achieve the magical hat-trick
RAB medium pace/RHB
Rob Heald Member profile Rob Heald
2007 occasional spin bowler (due to the plethora of spin bowling talent now avialable to the skip)
Shows stupendous insight when setting a field (often requests the same when ordering from TJs ie. the usual) oh and can't bat for toffee (if toffee was a tailender - rob would be thorntons).
Chris Hornsby Member profile Chris Hornsby
2nd Best Player with the Name Chris in the side.
Richard Hornsby Member profile Richard Hornsby
Right handed bat
bowls a bit but not good enough to open - great against rabbits
Fraz Hubbard Member profile Fraz Hubbard
After many years of leading Croft youth team to victory (beating Wovey in the final game being the highlight) followed his heart to Huncote to play alongside such players as Max "the power" Swords but to name one.

This promising wicket keeping bowling batsman is scoring 50's for Huncote 1st team at the age of 20 he has a promising future but will it be with his beloved Huncote or will he learn from his Big Broand take the air ballon over the hill toCroft CC?!?!

Jason Scrimshire Member profile Jason Scrimshire
The phrase "Sporting Genius" is uttered once every generation. Sadly this does not apply to this seasoned pro. He was voted 2nd XI Captain at the 2006 AGM after an impressive season with the bat. The young lad was nervous about his newfound responsibilities and knew that following in the footsteps of Ian Daniels and Luke Creissen was never going to be easy.
He is one third of the clubs dynamic spin duo with Roberto Heald. But his career was nearly cut short by a freak crippling shoulder injury (right arm separated AC Joint) that left him on the sidelines for 6 weeks. Batsmen around the league were sobbing into their Pork Scratchings/Bombay Mix/KP Nuts at the thought of never being able to hit this bowler for towering 6's ever again!
Tears turned to joy, however, when he laced up his boots, donned his whites and took to the field of play once more! Some say he came back better than ever, others think he should've called it a day.
His batting has taken a nose dive since his injury. He was once part of a promising opening partnership with Luke Creissen but the realisation that he can't bat coupled with the signings of better players, meant he has slipped down to number 11.
To surmise: Right handed Bat, Right Arm Leg Spin
Leroy Scrimshire Member profile Leroy Scrimshire
Steadily progressive Leroy Scrimshire once vowed never to play the game of cricket again after he and his brother were dropped from the youth team at Croft, only to later find out that on that particular day the team played with 9 men. That incident spurred this 'Creature of Cricket' on and but for a career threatening patella dislocation suffered way back in May 2005 I think it is safe to say that this freakeshly talented young gun would hav been averaging well above 40 by now. As luck would have it his dream came true and he has now managed to reach that 'ball park' figure of averaging above 40 but unfortunately it is with the ball. Fast forward to 2009 and this 'seasoned stallion of the sport' is now ploughing his trade in the first team, largely due to his extraordinary feelding ability and little else he is looking to establish himself as one of the clubs all-time-greats as opposed to being remembered in years to come as the only Scrimshire who can't spin the ball. Happy to bat as low down as 11 or as high as 8 but appears delighted to do as the skipper requests depending on the match situation (wait there!).
